Christyna Hengstler grew up in Vancouver, WA and has spent her professional life assisting others. She holds a master's degree in counseling from Portland State University, and a bachelor's degree in psychology. Her education and training background helps her to provide seniors and families with the best support, education and help in finding the right housing and care options in the greater Vancouver area.
Prior to joining 1st CHOICE Advisory Services in 2019, Christyna worked as a human resources director, a vocational rehabilitation counselor and regional area manager for the State of Washington, and as a job-coach/trainer/team leader and case manager for both the United Cerebral Palsy Association and Multnomah County Developmental Disabilities office.
Christyna is an avid volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association, and for the Senior Heroes Awards program in Southwest Washington.
Christyna and her husband are empty nesters and enjoy taking trips to see their adult children. While at home they enjoy being outdoors and working in the garden together.

Christyna went above and beyond helping us find a local Vancouver area Adult foster home for my adult brother with a very rare form of special needs that we needed to move down from the Bellevue area to be closer to family. From her first call, her communication was Amazing and she was very informative and thorough. She screened our needs and had a name for me to contact within a few days. The call and visitation went Great and we had my brother moved down within a few weeks. I highly recommend Christyna with 1st Choice, she is honest, she cares, and it shows. My family want to thank you and Julie for helping our family thru this very touchy and stressful situation, that could have been so much more stressful and taken much longer. My experience with 1st Choice was excellent, and I give all the credit to Christyna Hengstler. She was very professional but also very understanding and caring. She spent time figuring out just exactly what my sons and I wanted for my husband care wise by asking and answering all our questions. She had specific knowledge about all the possible places we could place Brian and she arranged tours. When we had to move Brian after a year due to his increased needs, she again found the best place for him, and she moved quickly and made sure I was comfortable with my choice. When Brian passed, she graciously attended his funeral and sent me a empathic email. Christyna was simply a godsend for my family, and we so appreciated her expertise.
